In 2008 I…
Lived in Dallas, Lived in Oklahoma, Used my degree, Moved into 2 apartments, Got a niece, prayed for a niece, watched my niece kick butt, missed my boyfriend, missed my friends, missed my family, grew up a bit, stopped biting my nails, developed a love for books, developed a love for the Rangers, got used to the Mavericks losing, bought a dress, booked a venue, went to England, GOT ENGAGED!!!
I think the beginning to a new year is inspiring. One event can send a desire to the world to make them want to find ways to improve their lifestyle. Lose 20 pounds, stop smoking, stop drinking, get out of debt, eat better, spend more time with their family…. One day can influence people all over to do random things with their lives. Make their bed everyday, visit another country, learn to sew, keep a diary, pick up a new sport, become less dependent on Facebook… One day out of 365 days will cause people to kick the habits that they can’t get away from. Stop drinking coke, stop eating sugar, stop popping their knuckles, start returning missed calls, get over their road rage, be more patient in shopping lines, stop gossiping, stop cussing.
We all set New Years Resolutions to try and be better people. That’s something that is done world wide, regardless of moral upbringing and religion. It just goes to show you that the world is still filled with great people who just want to do better. I think that’s pretty neat myself.
My first New Year’s Resolution:
1. To help any situation when given the chance.
