Boomer.... oh wait

Next time you go out to dinner, keep in mind that more than likely the entire wait staff is overhearing your conversation. Infact, one of my favorite things to do is walk the floor, picking up on random conversations.

 

Last night was one of the greatest nights for this new hobby. Around 6:30 we were completely full of OU fans. The game started at 7 and so at this point, people were finding their seats, drinking their beer. This is what I heard the first time I walked through:

 

Table 37 “I got this new shirt today because I totally think that OU will win tonight! Plus I mean it’s super cute right?”

 

Table 25 “When we win tonight it will put to rest all the doubts that we belong here instead of Texas…”

 

Table 23 “Everytime we score lets drink! We will get so smashed!”

 

Table 33 “Man it’s so packed in here. What’s going on?”

 

At about 7:45 I made another round. I was pretty happy at this point because the game was scoreless.

 

Table 37 “He is so cute! Don’t you think that quarterback is cute! Oh he is so cute! Bradford… what a cute name.”

 

Table 25 “Just wait till our offense explodes…”

 

Table 23 “So every time we get a 3^rd down conversion! Let’s drink!”

 

Table 33 “I wonder if we could turn one of these 80 TV’s to something besides football?”

 

 

At around 9, about halftime, I made another round.

 

Table 37 “I heard this guy say that when the other team scored it shouldn’t have counted cause he wasn’t down. They should so take that score back cause that’s not fair!”

 

Table 25 “I can’t believe that the refs are taking another bowl game away from us.”

 

Table 23 “Waitress, can I have three shots of patron?”

 

Table 33 “Excuse me ma’am? Can we get our check? It’s so loud in here.”

 

I made me final round with about 35 seconds left of the game.

 

Table 37 “ Can I get my tab?”

 

Table 25 “Well at least we will finish in the AP poll above Texas… Can I get my tab?” (They didn’t)

 

Table 23 “How is my tab $113?!?!”

 

People are really funny. Especially the ones that are too drunk to fall in line with the simple cheer “Boomer…. Sooner.”
