Kindly Unspoken (Kate Voegal)

Some people would say that waiting nearly 4 months to update a journal is a long time. I feel like i have a slight excuse.

First things first I want to update you all about the progress of my beautiful niece. She is wonderful and I cannot thank you all enough for your thoughts and prayers. Lia Kate was born July 22 and has done nothing but miraculous things since. She was strong enough to wait a week before her surgery. This was awesome because she was able to grow a little more and recover from being born before she had the surgery. All went well and she was able to leave nearly 3 weeks before they had originally planned. She looks amazing and i am completely blown away by the power of prayer in this instance.

John left a couple of weeks ago to head back to England for a month before he has to be in Spain. He signed his contract in June, so it is official. He will be playing for a team that is right outside of Alicante, Spain. It sits right off of the Mediterranean Sea and is absolutely beautiful. Whenever he got the call from his agent his face lit up and I was sure to never see anyone so excited about something.

Until... the last night that he was here I was helping him pack up his stuff when he turned to me and said "Let's get married next summer..." I was completely thrown back because i really wasn't seeing us getting married until he was finished over in Spain. But whenever i saw how excited he was at the thought, and whenever he assured me that in Spain he would be able to support us both easily, I couldn't help but get on board. He wants to talk to my dad first, he wants surprise me, and he wants to be able to get me a nice ring, so nothing is official as of now. But since we are planning to get married in England he wanted to give me a year to plan. We wanted to give our friends a year to budget too.

So I guess things have been crazy on my end, but I couldn't be more happy with how things are going in my life.
